The benefits and opportunities of
digital transformation in education

For students

From a student perspective, online learning is above all cheaper and more flexible.

With the right edtech, students can learn what they want and how they want, and attend classes that would otherwise be out of reach.

Many university-aged people must take up work, which in the past would have meant sacrificing further education. Online learning lets them do both. As well as saving time and money, they can be kinder to the environment by minimising daily travel or avoiding moving to a different city.

Personalised digital profiles help students and their parents choose an individual teaching profile, while digital communication tools allow for productive student-teacher relations. What’s more, students can select their own learning path and content, which empowers them to focus on their strengths and interests. At the same time, self-assessments, video tutoring sessions and performance updates help students better understand how they are doing, which in turn leads to a heightened sense of control and satisfaction.

For organizations

Pioneering edtech opens new possibilities in communication with school, parents and students, allows for more effective school management and improves student safety.

More and more people use their desktops and mobile devices not only to play but also to work and learn. Young people want to use technology to enhance their experiences and make their lives easier. That’s why it’s essential for schools and universities to go digital – and to do so smartly, in keeping with students’ needs.

With e-learning, educational institutions can attract new students from around the world, while offering them the unprecedented chance to work with international peers. Plus, teachers are able to transfer knowledge more quickly and engagingly, as online learning is free from the physical restrictions that disrupt face-to-face teaching, such as issues with travel to and from university and a lack of communication between students and faculty.

Takto.to helps Polish schools and parents stop student bullying

The founder of Takto.to had a startup idea inspired by his own children’s struggles and miscommunication with other parents at their school.

With our design and engineering help, he launched a communication platform enabling parents and teachers to better organize school activities. For the kids, we’ve also built an intuitive mobile app, to quickly send an “emoji” status to adults and inform them about kids’ wellbeing.

Haugetun School App

Stellar Academic Experience for folks at Haugetun School in Fredrikstad

Haugetun — a Folk High School in Fredrikstad, Norway — wanted to help their faculty and students in organizing their academic life on campus.

Working together, we have thus designed and launched a PWA mobile app to enable swift communication. With event registration, staff messaging, faculty absence info, cantine menu, and many more useful features, everyone at the school is now always well informed and always where they need to be.

ten_town

Learning and teaching numbers is fun with TenTown from UK

TenTown is an educational platform used by schools in a myriad of countries to educate kids about numbers using funny characters and stimulating games. Bob, the TenTowns founder, wanted to re-launch it to move from legacy software to a new e-commerce platform.

Collaborating completely remotely, we have built the brand new version of TenTown. By using modern tech we greatly improved the previously tedious back-office management tasks and delivered an educational web platform ready for smart growth.

Canadian College Qatar

Streamlined communication at the Canadian College in Qatar

The Canadian College of the North Atlantic in Doha, Qatar is unique in fostering world-class education by exchanging faculty between two remote countries and cultures. Hence, effortless communication is a key success factor for both their staff and students.

To facilitate this and to streamline the exchange of vast amounts of documents and information, our UX Designers worked on-site, running user research, Design Thinking workshops and collaborative prototyping and testing sessions to design and help launch a new intranet solution, now successfully used by the college.

Munin Buzz

Novel approach to teaching with current news and world events

Munin Buzz is a weekly web news magazine for Norwegian teenagers. Their aim is to help teach children subjects like politics, culture or economy based on the current news.

To support Munin Buzz in their modern teaching initiative, we created a web tool for both teachers and students, where the teacher can easily plan topics for weeks ahead and schedule the curriculum for their students.

Volda University College

60% more users on mobile devices for Volda University College

Volda University College has one of the most prestigious programs in Journalism in Norway. To grow further, they wanted to elevate the number of visits to their website and increase their conversion rates.

Together, we have developed a multichannel digital platform for Volda to grow. Smooth performance, deep analytical insights and improvement of KPIs were top priorities. Our mobile-first approach and user-centered design focus led great results. Increase in mobile traffic by 60% and 15% lower the bounce rate were celebrated by Volda.
